In what must be the clearest signal that the left is beginning to realize that the Trump-Russia collusion story is going nowhere, the Wall Street Journal has called for Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the man tasked with the investigation, to step down and resign.
Is the media really catching up to what the rest of us knew 6 months ago? That this is nothing more than an attempt to “Resist Trump.” Or is this merely another tactic to try and do damage control before Mueller is dragged before the Senate Commission to ask why he didn't declare that he has major hedge fund investments in Russian companies that would clearly be impacted by the outcome?
“It is no slur against Mr. Mueller’s integrity to say that he lacks the critical distance to conduct a credible probe of the bureau he ran for a dozen years,” the Journal’s editorial board wrote. “He could best serve the country by resigning to prevent further political turmoil over that conflict of interest.”
Just a few days ago, the Hill reported that after an FBI investigation they had uncovered “substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering.” And this took place whilst Mueller was heading up the FBI…He clearly has a conflict of interests and who knows, there may even be some criminality involved…Maybe we need a Special Counsel to look at the eSpecial Counsel?
