An Illinois judge has ruled that regardless of one's religious or personal beliefs, it is the taxpayer's duty to pay for the abortions had by other people. IN a major affront to liberty, the judge decreed that Governor Rauner's bill would stand.
Rauner (who openly claims to be pro-abortion and has publically stated that he will never change his mind) a Republican, signed into law the bill that taxpayers must foot the bill for all women's abortions.
It is estimated that between 20 and 30,000 abortions are performed in Chicago each year, at a cost to the taxpayer of at least $2 million after all associated costs are included. Quite why this becomes the taxpayer's responsibility has yet to be argued properly.
Rauner said of the law:
“I believe that a woman living with limited financial means should not be put in the position where she has to choose something different than a woman of higher income would be able to choose.” But isn't this the case with everything? Someone with a higher income makes the “choice” to live in a better area because it is safer for her. Someone with a higher income makes the “choice” to eat healthier food despite the added cost.
We mustn't forget that when the vast majority of women choose to have an abortion, it is because they have made the choice to have unprotected sex. This is the choice!
