New York state has designated $18.5 million in its fight against gangs..specifically MS-13. But a closer look at facts are leaving many wondering what they are thinking and how effectual this policy will be.
The money is NOT set to be spent on tracking down, locking up, or deporting violent gang members, or even to aid the break up of the gang. It is to be spent in Long Island with the aim of stopping young kids joining up.
So they don't seek to stop the criminal activities, they don't seek to get these murderers, thieves, and rapists off the streets…They just want to stop them recruiting young idiots from Long Island. When we consider that many of MS-13 gang members were not even born in the US, but instead strolled through our porous borders to join up with the US side of operations, this strategy seems like a waste of time, effort, and resources.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said:
“Let’s stop the young people from getting caught in the gang pipeline to begin with, rather than just treating them as criminals once the gang takes over.Let’s not treat the disease, let’s prevent the disease.”
He either fails to undestand where the criminals come from or has no real intention of stopping them doing the damage they do.
