One of the Democrat party's biggest donors has decided to quit the DNC and go Independent. And he's not the only one. Many donors are pulling away from a party that they see as divisive and self-serving; with the largest part of their voter base being immigrants in poorer cities, this could spell the end of their fundraising hopes.
High-profile Florida attorney, John Morgan, announced that he could no longer remain a member of the party. He said:
“I can’t muster enthusiasm for any of today’s politicians. They are all the same. Both parties,” he tweeted. “I plan to register as an Independent and when I vote, vote for the lesser of two evils. And if I ever ran, run as an Independent.”
Morgan is famous in Dem circles for setting up big campaign events that bring in lots of cash for the party; without his support, it's difficult to see how the Dems will be able to win back Florida.
It is part of a wider trend that well-heeled Democrats are jumping ship. The party no longer offers a solid vision of how they want the nation to look; they are merely stating what they don't want…This is NOT a government in waiting, this is a protest group.
If the Dems fail to find a positive vision for the future, they have no future. They have won only one special election since November and were very lucky to do so. We are watching the death spiral of a party that pushes Identitarian politics, yet fails to identify itself.
