As President Trump continues to threaten withdrawal from the Iran deal set up under Barack Obama, you might assume that once a decision is made, it is up to Congress to figure out either the implementation or the details. What we don't expect, is someone without any elected position to seek to undermine the US interests in coordination with a foreign power.
Former Secretary of State John Kerry appears to have been doing just that.
According to a report by the Boston Globe, Kerry has been meeting with Iranian officials in an effort to scupper Donald Trump's plans to pull out of what he calls the “worst deal in history.”
The report states that Kerry is using his former position and contacts to speak with other leaders, including high up Iranian officials (who let's remember are recognized as one of the largest state sponsorers of terrorism worldwide), and he doing this “under the radar” to avoid angering Trump.
Now, I'm sure this falls far short of the legal definition of treason. But There is certainly a case to put forward that a private citizen is using the power of the office he NO LONGER HAS to undermine the new administration and stop it carrying out the exact policy that was campaigned on and granted a mandate by the election.
How dare Kerry (and his handlers who have set him on this path) decide what is best for America without putting it to the people. He has assumed the role of Dictator by his actions. And he deserves the name traitor for acting in the interests of a small group of elites rather than the American people.
