After the first year of the Campus Carry law being in place, all looks good. Governor Greg Abbott signed the bill into law last year giving universities one year to show that it would not cause any problems. And the University of North Texas has reported a success.
“We have had no incidents since the law passed or since the law went into effect of criminal acts by license-to-carry holders,” UNT Police Chief Ed Reynolds told the Denton Record-Chronicle. “We have had cases that involved weapons on campus, but the individuals that were carrying were not license-to-carry holders.”
So there you have it. Absolutely no problems with those who are licensed to carry. Sure there have been problems with unlicensed people, but that is what the whole law is about, ensuring that responsible citizens can keep themselves and their community safe from those who hold illegal weapons.
If it ever seems that the left is trying to destroy the 2nd Amendment with nothing but spurious arguments and easily disprovable facts, it's because they are. And the reason for it is that they wish to be the very tyranny that the Constitution warned about.
They want to be the controlling force in people's lives and limit freedoms. They can't-do this properly while the population is armed, so they will try to take your guns. It really is, unfortunately, that simple and base.
This program to see the results of Campus Carry has been a success, putting told to the narrative that guns in the hands of responsible people is dangerous. Don't fall for the leftist lies.
