In what must be one of the most ludicrous court cases to ever come about in the US, pastors from D.C, including from D.C.’s Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church have decided to sue the Coca-Cola and American Beverage corporations for being racist. According to Alan B. West:
The complaint…alleges that Coke and the ABA ran an intentional campaign to confuse consumers about the causes of obesity.
Obesity, hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease and lower-extremity amputations are all far higher among people of color than among whites. These communities also drink more soda — and are exposed to more soda advertising.
So there you have it. They are suggesting that folk in their community have no knowledge that drinking soda that is made of chemicals and sugar is bad for them. And more importantly, that the people apparently don't have any responsibility to look after their health.
I have no love for Coca-Cola, and in fact, never drink soda…because it is so incredibly unhealthy with almost no nutritional benefit at all. And I know this because it is not a secret. I make the conscious effort to not drink things that are going to ruin me physically.
What is it about the left that seems to think people should not have a sense of personal responsibility? It's time to fix society, and the best way to start is to fix ourselves. Be responsible, watch less TV, eat less junk food, drink water instead of soda and start being adults!
